Living Together
When you live with other people, it is important to remember that not everyone is the same, and not everyone will agree on the same things. It might be worth considering some ground rules before you move in so that you all know what to expect from each other.
Because everyone is different, you will need to find out what works for you, but some things to consider are cleaning, bill payments, sharing costs of food or household items, taking out the rubbish/recycling and even having friends or partners round. If you recognise that your housemates will think about things differently, and consider this when setting the rules, then you should be able to come to a compromise that everyone is happy with.
Things Not Going Right?
If things in your house aren’t going quite as you would like, or expect them to, it is important to communicate with your housemates.
Leaving Notes for your Housemates
Although leaving a note might be easier than speaking to someone, and possibly also amusing, it’s better if you talk to your housemates about any issues. Rather than any problems escalating later and the anger brewing for longer, you might be able to resolve the issue early and return to housemate bliss.
